Grape Disease risks 4/16-4/23/2025

Here are snapshots from the last week, showing the number of days with the risk of each disease: Ph = Phomopsis, PW = Powdery mildew, BR = Black rot, and DM = Downy mildew. N/A means there is no data or some issues with the NEWA (which has been reported).

There was rain here and there, but overall, we are still having a relatively dry spring. We will see how it goes. As of today, our Chardonnays are about 2-3 inches in shoot length, which is typical spray timing for Phomopsis, especially if the forecast is calling for rain.

For the management of Phomopsis, please see the post here or the slides from the previous online meeting. If you have not, please join our monthly virtual viticulture meetings, usually held on the second Thursday at 1 p.m. If you have not received a note from us about the meeting before, please use the “subscribe” menu so that I can add your email to our list.
